Stiff joints slowing you down? Don't worry there is a solution!

Our joints support us in everything we do so it’s only fair we support them where we can! When you're young, you really do think you’re invincible. You don’t think to protect your joints. You jump all over the place, take falls hard, wear shoes that are terrible for posture and generally just throw your body through the ringer over and over again. We all remember those days. Everything bounced back and it was awesome. Somewhere along the road, everything tightened up… well not everything, the things you wouldn’t mind still being tight, are now plenty bouncy. But your joints, muscles, somehow it seems like you can even feel your bones creaking!

Good news, there are things you can do to help. You can’t reverse aging, but you can slow it down and you can live pain free. We work with our clients to give them tools and resources to reduce pain and stiffness. As personal trainers we can help by providing exercises, stretches and different fitness tools that can help ease tension. We work with you on a consistent basis to prevent the problem from coming back too. We focus on lengthening and relieving tension while also building muscle and balance to protect your joints and ligaments. We also teach you how to perform self myofascial release with foam rollers or balls. It's basically like giving yourself an intense massage to really break up those knots. We build this into your routine so it also becomes consistent.

The key we are focusing on here is a solution to the problem, not a bandaid to cover it up.

Plenty of times, we refer out. If there are techniques or resources we think would benefit you, we tell you. We are partnered with a physical therapist, for example, who we can recommend. Or we can teach you about natural pain relief methods like acupuncture or homeopathy, just to name a few.

If your stuff joints are stopping or limiting you from your normal activity, we would love to see if we can help! Until then, check out our 5 tips to start relieving your tension now!
